Greg Jennings

Greg Jennings was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Greg graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School where he was all-conference in three sports – football, basketball, and track. In 2001, Greg went on to play football for Western Michigan University and was classified as their number 1 Wide Receiver. He later was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2006, and 2011 led the Packers to the first Super Bowl victory in 14 years. In the midst of his NFL career, Greg went back to college and graduated with a communications degree.

In 2013 he signed with the Minnesota Vikings and was a valuable asset to their organization by showcasing his leadership both on and off the field. Greg completed his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins during the 2015/2016 football season and retired shortly after.
Greg presides as Vice President of The Greg Jennings Foundation Board of Directors. Greg impacts his community by giving back and being a role model for youth in the communities in which he lives. His admiration for youth continues to shine during his Annual Football & Cheer
Camp where both sports and education join forces.

“Greg and his wife Nicole founded The Greg Jennings Foundation in 2008. Since its inception, The Greg Jennings Foundation has raised over $550,000 for youth and education as well as organizations such Habitat for Humanity. The Greg Jennings Foundation have built two homes in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and one home in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The Greg Jennings Foundation and the “BE GREAT” Initiative, partner with non-profit organizations located in the Greater Kalamazoo and Minneapolis communities.”

In April 2009, Greg was honored with the Professional Achievement Award at the 12th Annual Lee Remmel Sports Awards Banquet.
Greg has also been selected as the Vikings 2014 Ed Block Courage Award recipient by his teammates. As a veteran WR he recognized by teammates for his leadership, generosity, and willingness in community outreach efforts in the Twin Cities and his hometown of Kalamazoo, MI.

Along with his work through the Greg Jennings Foundation, he is also active with teammates’ community outreach events. Jennings recently received the Minneapolis Police Community Service Award and is active with the locally-owned Starkey Hearing Foundation.

Quite simply, Greg goes above and beyond in everything he does. Whether in the community or at home with his friends and family, Greg always gives more than expected. As a positive role model and family man, honesty and integrity are of the utmost importance to him. Recently retired from the NFL, Greg is currently pursuing his career in TV broadcasting and holds a position with Fox Sports.

Mr. Jennings was an all-conference star in three sports (football, basketball, and track) at Kalamazoo Central High School. He went on to enjoy a standout career at Western Michigan University where he became just the 11th player in NCAA Division I history to record three career 1,000-yard receiving seasons (2003-05), and enjoyed a record-breaking senior year, leading the nation with an average of 8.91 receptions per game, while also ranking second in the country in yards receiving per game (114.45).

Drafted in 2006 by the Packers, Mr. Jennings quickly distinguished himself, being named to the All-Rookie Team and catching quarterback Brett Favre’s 400th, 420th and 421st touchdown passes as the NFL legend chased, matched, and surpassed Dan Marino’s all-time NFL record. In 2010, Jennings was named a Pro Bowl wide receiver selection, and became a Super Bowl XLV champion, scoring two touchdowns in the Packers 31-25 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Off the field, Mr. Jennings enjoys spending time with his wife, Nicole Jennings of Kalamazoo, and three daughters(Amya, Alea, and Ayva) and one son(Aice). He also takes on many hobbies and interests that include acting on numerous TV shows, playing the bass guitar, playing drums, and spending time with family in Kalamazoo.
